Idea 1- For this main idea I would want to make a big collection of artwork to put together in some sort of collage or folder. Recently I have been really enjoying digital art, and with the combination of Drawing 1 and the 370 Character design course this semester, I have been drawing quite a bit and it is something I am looking to improve at. I currently have my own original character and world and I am thinking about doing a big folder of concept art for this character/s and the world that they are in maybe. I also want to include any art in different styles too as I learn more from other artists.
Idea 2- Taking those of the table, my next idea would fall under making something in Maya. I think the project I would pursue would be one where I model, rig and animate some sort of character. Using the word character as a very broad term here as it could mean a lot of things. I think trying to model a kind of monster would be pretty interesting. Looking at the animation part; in the future I would want to go work for Riot Games, the company who made league of legends, so I think I would make a characters and animate an idle stance, a walk cycle and a run cycle. And then maybe some abilities once the main ones are out the way.
Idea 3- Alright so this one I think would be really fun and interesting to make. I was thinking about doing something in video editing and film. During this whole quarantine thing, over the summer a few friends and I have been getting together to play volleyball and over the past 2 months or so we have been playing on a weekly basis. So I was thinking that I could take the opportunity to make some sort of short movie out of this. Something like a live action Haikyu! but with players who aren’t really good at the game. I would record these games in some sort of cinematic fashion and then edit it all together to make something really cool.
Gonna have to support idea 3 here! Just based on the first line alone: “Alright so this one I think would be really fun and interesting to make.” You didn’t even say what the idea was and you’re already excited about it. I think it would be fun for you to consider the mood you’re going for– if you’re going for a live action anime like you said that’d be awesome, maybe even include some visual graphics to match the style for surprises, anger, etc. Maybe even a title sequence of some kind? Maybe some kind of storyline? I’ve never seen an episode of Haikyu, but I think directing and filming a short film for thesis would be a great experience and resume piece, as well as a time capsule of the strange times we live in.
(Maybe also consider other kinda of genres like the classic talking-heads tv show [The Office], nature documentary, horror?, rom-com, drama, etc.)
The first idea sounds interesting, but in a way, I think thesis adds as an extension to a portfolio, so maybe you can delve in further with this since you’ve been building this world and fleshing out your character(s). If you’d want to combine it with video editing, perhaps you can make a short visual graphic novel as an introduction to your characters and world.
I’m really digging Idea 2 as well. I’m quite the fan of creature animation, and monster (I guess?) would certainly fall into that category. There’s a host of things to consider when design your own creatures; a key factor in developing them is to break them down to into recognizable shapes that are easy for you to remember and redraw (as such in character design in general) but taking reference from real life animals is a good step to cementing plausible animating into your own creatures, especially if you’re looking to create something mythical, fantastical, or speculative!

That’s just one example explaining some ways to consider/go about designing fictional creatures, but there’s a bunch more videos on YouTube giving insight on monster, animal, or creature design that you can explore!
I think Idea 3 has the most potential out of your 3 ideas. If you are going for a comedic tone, I recommend watching “Anime Baseball.” It plays with the tropes of anime while also telling a compelling story. If you are going for an over-the-top feel, you could play with VFX and sound design.

I also recommend watching Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World if you want to go for a video game aesthetic. I think incorporating visual graphics will be effective if you are going for a hyper-stylized feel.
